DM-1 Step Bolt Anchor

DM-1 Line Drawing

The patented Rapid Rail International DM-1 solves the well documented issue of transmission structure step bolts not meeting anchor point standards. The DM-1 provides OSHA compliance with the anchor simply being fitted to a high-quality step bolt and installed at the point of construction to transmission lattice towers, or both steel / concrete monopoles . This combination then provides a 5,000lbf (22kN) anchor point at every step of the climb and descent.

  • The DM-1 allows safe use of step-bolts as anchor points
  • OSHA compliant transmission tower anchor point
  • Quick and easy installation
  • Choice of anchor point only, a kit including step bolt and fixings, or a complete assembly with step bolt and fixings
  • Available to fit 5/8" [16mm], 3/4" [19mm] or 7/8" [22mm] step bolts
  • Hot dip galvanized

How The DM-1 Step Bolt Anchor Works

IMG_2045

DM-1 anchors are fitted to step-bolts typically at the point of construction, with the combination then becoming an OSHA compliant fall arrest anchor point. A simple installation process requires the DM-1 anchor to slide over the step-bolt with the lower edge angled down towards the tower body against the tower leg. Then fit the combination of the DM-1 anchor and step bolt as you would a regular step bolt. The climber will now be able to place their lanyard snap-hook through the DM-1 giving them a safe and compliant climbing experience.
